To deliver the Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement, Manchester Partnership has been restructured for greater efficacy and efficiency. The Partnership has a Manchester Board, the Public Service Board and five key partners.
The Public Service Board (PSB) is made up of leaders from key service delivery agencies, community networks, Learning and Skills Council, JobCentre, Primary Care Trust, Manchester City Council and others.
The PSB concentrates on making sure that the city achieves its vision for 2015. A number of targets have been set to get us there, and the PSB constantly monitors and evaluates those targets to make sure that they are the right ones and that they are being reached. In addition, the PSB works on three big problems faced by residents as, by solving these Manchester will take a great leap forward. The three challenges are:
- getting residents into high as well as low paid local jobs
- providing children with the right education and skills to get local jobs as adults
- finding ways to support and encourage residents to be more confident, be happier, seek success both at work and in their private lives.
The PSB is accountable to the non-executive Board (the Manchester Board).
