Data Quality Strategy and Policy
Consistent, high quality, timely and comprehensive performance and financial data and information is vital in order to inform good decision-making in the management of services and to improve service outcomes for Manchester’s residents.
The essence of good data quality is that it should be :-
• Accurate,
• Valid,
• Reliable,
• Timely,
• Relevant, and
• Complete.
With this in mind, Manchester City Council has developed a Data Quality Strategy (2009-12) and Data Quality Policy (2009-12), to embed the fundamentals of data quality within the foundations of all council offices, services and staff.
These documents have been put into use throughout the authority and it has also been shared with all partners organisations within the Manchester Partnership to complement their own individual data quality policies and promote effective data sharing.
